Hello everyone! With the recent weather, there is nothing better than enjoying some refreshing food and drinks. What are your favorite Japanese summer treats? Today, we are excited to share some perfect summer delights available at Maido!

Kibun's Tofu Somen Noodles are a light and refreshing option, perfect for a hot day. They are noodles made from tofu, mimicking the appearance and texture of traditional thin somen noodles (wheat noodles). They are typically eaten chilled. Tofu somen are a popular choice for those seeking a lighter, lower-calorie alternative to traditional somen. Available in Umami flavor made with fish flakes and Sesame flavor made with sesame paste and grated sesame, these noodles are sure to delight your taste buds.

Kaneka, Mozuku with Vinegar
Mozuku is a type of brown seaweed native to Okinawa, Japan. It is known for its slimy texture and mild flavor, and it is often used in salads, soups, and other dishes. Mozuku is also a good source of vitamins, minerals, and amino acids, and it is particularly high in fucoidan, a type of polysaccharide that may have potential health benefits. The special thing about this product is that it contains 10 billion lactic acid bacteria (LTK-1) derived from miso. It comes with 3 packs.

Here is another kind of mozuku product. This one has 30% less sodium compared with their other mozuku products. It is preservative and chemical seasoning free. Kaneryo, Agodashi Mekabu
Mekabu is a type of edible seaweed, specifically the flowering part of the wakame plant. It is harvested from the lower, bulbous portion of the wakame plant, distinct from the more familiar leafy wakame. Mekabu has a slimy, gelatinous texture, making it a unique addition to dishes. The mekabu, produced using their proprietary method, is characterized by their bright color and crispy texture while retaining their stickiness. Mekabu offers numerous health benefits, including being a good source of iodine, fiber, vitamins, and minerals. It supports thyroid health, gut health, and may even help with weight management. Additionally, Mekabu contains antioxidants and may play a role in preventing certain diseases. It is made with agodashi, a type of Japanese dashi (soup stock) made from dried flying fish.
