(Recipe) Curry Flavored Brown Rice Salad

In our previous blog post, we introduced a brown rice salad. Today, we'll share the recipe. The rice salad highlights the chewy texture and nutty aroma of brown rice. This salad can be enjoyed as a side dish alongside white rice, or even as a main dish. When served as a main dish, it's especially recommended for breakfast. You can get all the ingredients used in this recipe at Maido except lemon and vegetables excluding cucumber.


Ingredients (1 serving as a main dish):

1 bowl of cooled cooked brown rice

1/2 small red pepper

1/2 small yellow pepper

1/2 onion

1/3 carrot

1/2 small cucumber

Lettuce, as needed

1 can of tuna

Salt and pepper to your liking

* 1 tbsp of mayonnaise

* 1/2 tsp of sugar

* 1 tsp of curry powder

* A little lemon juice

Nishiki Brown Rice (top left)

Nissui Canned Tuna Flakes 3 Cans (top center)

Daisho Ajiko Salt and Pepper (top right)

Hakata no Shio Sea Salt (middle left)

Aranami Cooking Salt, Saredo Shio Moshio Seaweed Salt (center)

House Pepper (middle right)

Kewpie Mayonnaise (bottom left)

Mitsuba Jirushi Sanonto Soft Brown Sugar (bottom center)

S&B Oriental Curry Powder (bottom right)


Directions:

1. Finely chop the onion and carrot, microwave for about 2 minutes (1000w), then let cool slightly.


2. In a deep bowl or container, combine the finely diced pepper and cucumber, the cooled vegetables from step 1, and the ingredients starting with a "*". Mix well.


3. Add the drained tuna and brown rice to the mixture from step 2. Mix thoroughly. Season with salt and pepper if needed.


4. Place lettuce on the plate, arrange what you prepared in step 3 on top, and serve. Enjoy!
