Recently, Maido got new Cream Sand Gaufrette wafer cookies. These new wafers comes in matcha and strawberry flavors, sandwiched between two thin wafers. The pattern on the cookie resembles an ice cream cone and the cream inside is smooth yet creamy. It's not too sweet with a well balanced taste between the cream and cookie.
They come in cute boxes as pictured above. If you’re looking for a new snack you should give them a try. They can be enjoyed with tea, while reading a book on a nice afternoon, or can be a treat for friends. The company Nikko Shokuhin was established in 1966 with the goal of selling Japanese sweets overseas. Through much trial and error from feedback from many food exhibitions overseas they slowly grew. Now they have perfected the combination of ingredients resulting in these yummy wafer cookies. The cookies are light in both weight and taste so they won’t overpower your taste buds.
