Meatball Rice Gratin
Meatball Rice Gratin (3 servings):
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time: 15 minutes*
Total time: 20 minutes
*If the rice and white sauce are already cooked.
Ingredients:
1 pack of pork & beef teriyaki meatballs
16 oz. / 450g of cooked rice
10.5 oz. / 300g of white sauce
2 oz. / 60g of shredded cheese
0.5 oz. / 15g of panko bread crumbles
1 tbsp of mayonnaise
parsley as garnish to your liking
Directions:
1. Mix rice with mayonnaise and place in a baking dish. Heat meatballs in microwave for 2-3 minutes.
2. Pour the white sauce over the rice and top with the warmed meatballs.
3. Sprinkle melted cheese and bread crumbs on top of the second layer and heat in a toaster oven for about 10 minutes.
4. Sprinkle parsley on top.
Tips:
If you lightly crush the meatballs with a fork in process 2, it spreads more flavor all over the dish.
You can enjoy it without mayonnaise as well.
You can replace the rice with your favorite kind of short pasta.

If you want to make white sauce by yourself...
Ingredients:
1 tbsp of butter
1 tbsp of all-purpose flour
0.5 cup of milk or more to your liking
Directions:
Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat. Whisk in flour to form a thick paste; cook and stir until golden in color, about 5 minutes.
Whisk in the milk; cook and stir until thickened, about 5 minutes more. Add more milk to reach desired consistency.
